Cassie C. Izzi, age 94, of New Bethlehem, passed away early Tuesday morning, September 6, 2016 at the Melody Manor Nursing Home in Kittanning.

     Born January 24, 1922 in Rimersburg, she was the daughter of the late Nick and Mary Faraci Rago.

      She married Andrew Izzi  in the St. Charles Catholic Church in New Bethlehem and he preceded her in death.

     Cassie had been employed by Rola and Sylvania and worked as a stone mason with her brother-in-law, Bert Izzi.

     She attended the St. Charles Catholic Church in earlier years.

     Cassie loved her family, was a great cook and loved to can.

      She was a seamstress and sewed many of her children’s clothes.  She enjoyed crafts, giving many of her creations to her family and won many prizes at the Clarion County Fair.

     Cassie also enjoyed gardens and gardening and had the most beautiful flower gardens.

     She is survived by two daughters:  Linda Mills and her husband, Gene, of New Bethlehem and Carol Toy of Kittanning; five grandchildren:  Scott Mills, Kelli Traister and husband, Dale; Todd Mills and wife, Angie; Alison Monrean and husband, Jason and Keri Bartosiewicz

    Cassie is also survived by ten great grandchildren:  Dalton, Ciara, Anthony, Alex, Michael, Ryan, Kayla, Aiden, Makayla and Makenna and one brother, Mark Rago of Apollo.

    In addition to her parents and husband, Cassie was preceded in death by three brothers, Curly, Nick and Tom.

    Family and friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service Chapel, 233 Penn Street, New Bethlehem.

     Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Marsha A. Adams officiating.

     Interment will follow in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in New Bethlehem.
