Cecelia Marie Rupert, age 93, of Knox, passed away Thursday morning August 25, 2016.

     Born April 7, 1923 in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Peter Paul and Mary Elizabeth Dougherty Capitola.  She graduated from New Castle High School in 1941.

    She married William N. Rupert on April 13, 1944 and he preceded her death on May 18, 1994.  The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary shortly before Bill’s death.

    Cecelia was an integral part of her husband and son’s business, the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc.

   She attended the Callensburg Church of God and a past member of the Knox Civic Club. 

    Cecelia’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

    She had great faith and found great comfort in reading her Bible.

     Cecelia is survived by her children:  W. John Rupert and his wife, Kay, of Shippenville; Janis M. Cicero and her husband, Sonny, of Knox and Joseph W. Rupert and his wife, Susan, also of Knox; eight grandchildren:  William J. Rupert and wife, Alexis; Allison Rupert, Aimee Cicero Golden and her husband, Jeremy; John Cicero and his husband, Ian Volek, Ryan Rupert and his wife, Erin; Jamie Rupert, Jill Rupert Wolfe and her husband, Lance and William N. Rupert.

    She is also survived by four great grandchildren:  Kyle Sullenberger, Madison Golden, Meiya Miller and Korbin Wolfe and her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Rupert.

     In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William James Rupert, who passed away at the age of 16 months and five brothers: Paul, John, Charles, Edward and Robert Capitola and four sisters: Helen McCann, Mary Curley, Ruth Kreber and Rose Marie Capitola.

     Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.

     A private family funeral service will be held with Reverend Larry Rapp, Reverend Randy Evans and Reverend Jimmy Swogger officiating over the services.

     Interment will follow in the Zion Union Cemetery in Emlenton.
