Welcome to the memorial page for

Connie Jean (Wiant) Yeany

December 12, 1944

Connie Jean (Wiant) Yeany of Fairmount City, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 3, 2017 after a brief illness.

Born December 12, 1944 in Porter Township, she was a daughter of the late Arnold Wiant and Dorothy (Sherry) Miller.

Connie grew up near Punxsutawney and moved to Fairmount City in 1961 after meeting and marrying the love of her life, Ronald Yeany. She attended Redbank Valley High School for her senior year and was a 1962 graduate.

She had a strong work ethic and held several employment positions throughout her professional career. She started working for Cameron in Reynoldsville and acted as secretary/accountant for the family business in the 1960s. In the 1970s, she worked for the Charles P. Leach Insurance Agency in New Bethlehem, and the New Bethlehem Garment Company. In 1981, she started working as a teller for First Seneca Bank and retired from the banking industry in 2006.

Throughout her life, she was involved with the New Bethlehem Civic Club, Future Business Leaders of America and the Business & Professional Women’s Association.

After retirement, she enjoyed spending winters in Fort Myers, Florida, where she was active in golf, playing cards, bocce tournaments, riding bike and Friday trips to the beach with “The Beach Babes.”  Connie always put her family first and in her free time enjoyed being outdoors and working on crafts.

Connie was a long-time member of the Methodist Church but recently attended services with her family at First Church of God in New Bethlehem. Her faith was very important to her, and she took comfort in God’s word.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Ronald L. Yeany, Sr.; a son, Ronald L. Yeany, Jr., of Lowell, MA; a daughter, Melissa Jean (Yeany) Elliott and her husband, Dennis “Buck”, of New Bethlehem; a grand-daughter, Crystal Nicole (Elliott) Bish and her husband, Colby, of Mayport; a great-grandson Kyler Jay Bish of Mayport; a sister, Jane (Wiant) Yeany and her husband, W. Byrd, Jr., of Mayport, a brother Larry Wiant and wife Emma Jayne, of Brookville, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service chapel, 233 Penn Street, New Bethlehem and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the First Church of God, 418 Brian Lane, New Bethlehem.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church with the Reverend Randy Evans, Clarion/Forest VNA Hospice Chaplain and Reverend Randy Hopper, Associate Pastor of the First Church of God, co-officiating.
