Ronald L. Evans

May 2, 1935 ~ August 2, 2016 (age 81) 81 Years Old


     Ronald L. Evans, age 81, of Emlenton,  went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior while surrounded by his family,  at 11:15 p.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Clarion Hospital.

     Born May 2, 1935 in Newton Falls, Ohio, he was a son of the late Paul L. and Bertha M. Beardsley Evans. 

     He was a carpenter, building many homes and churches throughout his career.

     Ronald was a lifelong member of the Church of God, most recently attending the Park Hill Church of God.

   He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking, but his passion was camping.

     On June 13, 1953, Ronald married the former Frances Winland and she survives.

    Surviving in addition to his wife are five children:  Randy L. Evans and wife, Sue, of Emlenton; Rhonda L. Bowser and husband, Jeff, of Distant:  Sandy K. Henneman and husband, Greg, of Clarkston, MI; Greg A. Evans and wife, Lynn and Lydia A. Schneider and husband, Roger, all of Shelby, Ohio.

    Ronald is also survived by 10 grandchildren and their spouses: Ryan Evans and wife, Liz; Hillary O’Neil and husband, Adam; Jessica Troup and husband, Chad; Maggie Callenberg and husband, Chris; Cory Henneman and wife, Chelsea; Cary Hawthorne and husband, Seth; Bo Evans, Chase Evans, Heather Shireman and her husband, Spencer and Brad Schneider and wife, Morgan; eight great grandchildren:  Everly, Wyatt, Wynter, Tytus, Cyrus, Vyolette, Beckam and Jack and a brother, Dan and sister, Judy.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers:  Bob, Don, Harold and David and two sisters:  Norma and Betty.

     At the family’s request, there will be no public visitation.

    Funeral services will be officiated over by Ronald’s son and daughter-in-law, Reverend Randy Evans and Reverend Sue Evans but will be private and for immediate family only.

    Interment will take place at the Oakland Cemetery in Distant, Armstrong County.

    Memorial contributions may be given in the name of Ronald L. Evans to the Clarion/Forest VNA Hospice, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion, PA  16214
