Russell R. Rankin, age 41, of New Bethlehem, passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, September 3, 2016 at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.

     Born June 5, 1975 in Brookville, he was a son of Charlotte G. Brinker Rankin and the late George H. Rankin. He was a graduate of the Redbank Valley High School.

     He was the owner and operator of Rankin Trucking.

     Russ is survived by his mother, Charlotte, of New Bethlehem; one brother: Chad A. Rankin of Astoria, Oregon and daughters, Cierra and Kamille and one sister:  Tammy S. Port and her husband, Timothy, of New Bethlehem and their daughter and son, Jacqueline and George.

     He is also survived by Maria Clinger and her children, Christian, Jacob and Isaiah.

     Russell was preceded in death by his father in 2001 and his maternal grandparents, Russell and Mae Brinker and paternal grandparents, Paul Rankin and Mary Kelley.

     Family and friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service Chapel, 233 Penn Street, New Bethlehem.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Doug Henry officiating.

     Interment will follow in the Leatherwood Cemetery, Porter Township, Clarion County.
