Hazel Ruth Oglesby Weaver, age 91, of Lamartine, died unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon, August 19, 2012 at UPMC Northwest at Seneca following a brief illness.

Hazel Ruth Oglesby Weaver
Born May 28, 1921 in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Purviance Oglesby and Arena Mae Lawrence Oblesby.
Hazel graduated from Emlenton High School in the class of 1940 and was a graduate of the Oil City Beauty School.
She married Earl L. Weaver and he preceded her in death.
In earlier years, Hazel worked on the assembly line at Westinghouse. She was a member of the West Home Free Methodist Church until its closing. She then attended the Bethany Cross Roads Church.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Survivors include two daughters: Rebecca Ritchey and her husband, Domer, of Lamartine and Ruth Aites, also of Lamartine; two sons: Earl L. Weaver of Lamartine and Bruce Weaver and his wife, Nancy, of Tionesta; six grandchildren: Robert Ritchey; Julie Grodecki and her husband, Mike; Alana Brooks and her husband, Shane; Klintan Aites; Autumn Aites and Logan Weaver; two great grandchildren: Sawyer Brooks and Malena Brooks.
Hazel is also survived by a brother, Donald Oglesby and his wife, Ilse, of West Home and two sisters Anna Winkler and her husband, Herman, of Emlenton and Ellen Hornberg and her husband, Revered Norman Hornberg of Cherry Grove.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence and George Oglesby and her sisters, Mary Jane Winkler and Ruby Payne.
Friends will be received from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox, PA.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 in the funeral home. Reverend Cindy Oglesby Hill will be officiating.
Interment will follow in the Zion Union Cemetery in Emlenton.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in the name of Hazel Ruth Weaver to the Knox Public Library, P.O. Box 510, Knox, PA 16232.
