Edward L. Moon, age 79, of Knox, died Monday morning, January 21, 2013, at his home, following a lengthy illness.

Born September 27, 1933 in Oil City, he was a son of the late Clair and Grace Marie Hockman Moon.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean Conflict.
Ed married the former Faye E. Over on August 30, 1955 and she survives.
He retired from the Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company and was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Knox.
Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Along with the time spent with his family, he enjoyed gardening, hunting and coin hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Faye; two sons; James L. Moon and his wife, Leslie, of Atlantic and Timothy L. Moon and his fiancée, Lou Hudnell, of Knox; a daughter: Patty A. Baughman and her husband, Bob, also of Knox; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Ed is also survived by two brothers and three sisters: Robert Moon of Cooperstown, William Moon, Sr., Sharon Heller, Betty Mae Winger and Judy Flinchbaugh, all of Seneca and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Wice.
Friends will be received from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at 11 a.m., by the Berlin-Bowser American Legion Post #720 of Knox.
Funeral services will immediately follow on Wednesday morning in the funeral home with the Reverend Dan Myers officiating.
Interment will take place in the St. Paul’s Union Cemetery, Beaver Township, Clarion County.
