Edgar L. Henry, age 90 of Knox, died late Monday evening, February 11, 2013 at the Clarion Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born September 6, 1922 at Tin Town, Monroe Township, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Roy W. and Edith E. Henry.

Edgar married Rose V. Whitling on August 15, 1940 in Winchester, Virginia. She preceded him in death on February 13, 2012.

He retired from Knox Glass as an electrician and was a member of the Edenburg Lodge #550 of Knox, Oil City Lodge of Perfection, the New Castle Consistory and the Erie Shriners.

Survivors include his two daughters: Carol Runninger of Kittanning and Joanne Brothers and her husband, Craig, of Emlenton; four grandchildren: Donna Livengood of Kittanning; Barbara Brown and her husband, David, of Prospect; Kimberly Slaugenhaupt of Knox and John Brothers and his wife, Angie, of Johnson City, Tennessee.

Edgar is also survived by nine great grandchildren: Stephen, Rebecca, Amanda, Lee Ann, Alexander, Todd, Lauren, Braeden and Brooklyn; four great great grandchildren: Adelaide, Liam, Cecelia and Mara and one sister, Faye George of Knox.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Donald Runninger and an infant grandson.

Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to Noon, Saturday, February 16, 2013 at the Mt. Joy United Methodist Church, 159 Mt. Joy Road, Knox.

Funeral services will follow at Noon with the Reverend Dan Myers, pastor at Mt. Joy, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery.
