She is survived by a daughter and a son: Suzan Peterson and her husband, Bryan, of Rockville, Maryland and Lane Smail and his fiancée, Christine McCauley, of Knox; four grandsons whom she was very proud of: Nathan, Andrew, Jordan and Vitaly Peterson, all of Rockville, Maryland. She was also “Grammie” to Kimberly Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada, Hunter McCauley of Fryburg and Char Vesci of Sacramento, California and great grandma to Kenlee Smith of Nevada and Emma Foss of California.

Also surviving is a brother, Stanley McCleary and his companion, Susan Swift; in-laws, Ann McCleary, Faye Kennedy, Connie Smail and Carol Smail and many loving nieces, nephews and members of the clan.

In addition to her parents and husband, Beverly was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Myers and two brothers, DeWayne “Duke” McCleary and Eugene McCleary and well as many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Family and friends will be received from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1051 Twin Church Road, Knox. Reverend Karen Parsh, pastor of St. Paul’s, will officiate over the service.

We played together almost daily for years. Went to school. On to careers, marriage, retirement. I worked in NY, then to CA. We never lost touch! Bev never forgot a birthday or wedding anniversary, those cards are cherished. Bev was always cheerful and loving. I will miss my dearest friend. Pearl
