Arthur Detore Obituary

     Arthur Richard Detore, age 84, of Knox, passed away late Monday evening, November 26, 2018 following a brief illness. 

     His soul went to Heaven, his remains, to Arlington National Cemetery.

     Born October 4, 1934 in Everette, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late William C. and Angelina Petruzzi Detore.

     He was a Vietnam War Veteran and retired as a Staff Sgt. in the United States Army. In 24 years of service to his country, Arthur served two tours in Vietnam and received two Purple Hearts.

    He owned and operated Fort Detore in Emlenton and was Dietary Director at the Clarion Psychiatric Hospital and a chef at the Holiday Inn in Clarion.

    On June 6, 1976, he married the former Anna Mae Joyce.

    He was of the Catholic faith.

    Arthur was an avid fisherman and loved to cook.

    Survivors include his wife, Ann; one step granddaughter, Rachel Sargent and her husband, Trevor, of Erie and two step great grandsons, Joseph and Travis.

     In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by three brother, one sister and his step daughter, Colleen Wilman on May 31, 1998.

     At Arthur’s request, there will be no calling hours or service.

     His remains will be laid to rest in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, at a time yet to be determined.
