Barbara Ann Burgdorfer, age 78, of Knox, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday evening, November 29, 2018 at her home following an illness.
Born September 9, 1940 in Clarion, she was a daughter of the late Rex and Ila Shakley McElhattan.
On October 28, 1960 she married Robert A. Burgdorfer.
Barb was a homemaker and van assistant for McLendon Transportation System, Inc. of Knox.
She was a member of the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church at Ninevah.
Barb enjoyed working on puzzles and spending time with her family. She loved family get togethers.
Survivors include her husband, Bob; two daughters: Julie Kahle and her husband, Dan, Sr., of Knox and Jennifer Welton and her husband, Bud, of Flint, Michigan; eight grandchildren: Dan Kahle, Jr., Katrina Dye, Amanda Olech, Shawn Burgdorfer, Noah Welton, Amelia “Molly” Welton, Mitchell Vandlen and Mason Vandlen and two great grandchildren: Jason Dye and Shawnee Dye.
Barb is also survived by a brother, Robert McElhattan of Knox; three sisters: Shirley Barger of Butler, Laura Darlene McElhattan and Connie Strohmyer and her husband, Bill, all of Knox and a daughter-in-law, Shelly Vandlen and her husband, Tom, of Allendale, Michigan.
In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by a son, Randy Burgdorfer in 2003; a brother, Paul McElhattan and three sisters: Thelma Chadman, Betty Bargar and Dorothy Smith.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2018 in the funeral home with Reverend Rick Osberg, pastor of the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville.
