Carol Weaver Obituary

     Carol A. Weaver, age 79, of Knox, passed away Sunday morning, November 3, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her family, following a lengthy illness.

     Born July 22, 1940 in Clarion, she was a daughter of the late Albert L. and Alice M. Traister Smith.

     She was a graduate of Keystone High School.

     On September 27, 1958 in the Clarion Church of God, Carol married Daryl W. Weaver and he survives.

     She was a member of the Knox United Methodist Church for 55 years, where, until no longer able because of her illness, she sang in the choir, was a Lay Leader and Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher.

     Carol was employed by Clarion County as the Director of Assessment for 23 years.

     She was a member of the Knox Borough Council, served as Mayor and enjoyed Knox Horsethief Days activities.

     Carol was also a member of the Clarion County Republican Committee and Clarion Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, where she a two-time Worthy Matron.

     She loved playing cards, bowling, and singing at weddings and Christmas cantatas.

     Survivors include her husband, Daryl;  three children:  Cheryl “Cheri” Beichner and her husband, Richard, of Coudersport; Michael Weaver of Shippenville and Bradley Weaver and his wife, Angel, of Charleston, South Carolina;  four grandsons:  Jesse, James, Hunter and Ethan and six great grandchildren:  Abby, Isaiah, Bethany, Declan, Rebekah and Caleb.

     Carol is also survived by her four siblings, Betty (Mike) Solms of Gas Indiana; Ken Smith of Venus; Rita (Thaddeus) Swonger of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Keith (Jan) Smith of Huntington, Alabama.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Kayla and Amanda, and a sister-in-law, Zelda Smith.

     Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.

     Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2019 in the funeral home with Reverend Randy Evans officiating.

      Interment will take place in the Knox Union Cemetery.
