    Catherine J. Gruber, age 82, of Kossuth, passed away Saturday evening, September 16, 2017 at the Clarion Hospital.

     Born August 29, 1935 in Kossuth, Clarion County, she was a daughter of the late David B. and Hannah A. Docherty MacIntyre.

    She first married Edward S. Flannigan.  She then married William G. Gruber, both preceded her in death.

    Catherine had worked in home health care and as a nursing assistant and the Clarion Care Center.

    She was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Emlenton and loved to sew, make crafts, cook and listen to jazz.

     Catherine is survived by a son:  Thomas Flannigan and wife Zsuzsika, of Knox; four daughters:  Mary DiFiore of Pittsburgh; Cathy Larkin and husband, Gary, of Pittsburgh; Ann Bell and her husband, James of Pittsburgh and Laura Texter and her husband, Steve, of Knox; fifteen grandchildren: Robbie McCoy, Sara DiFiore, Shannon Bell, James Bell, Billie Strohmyer, Jordan Bell, Jessica Larkin, Thomas Jasko, Katie Texter, Erin Texter, Ronnie Texter, Liam Flannigan, Andora Flannigan, Scarlette and Skyla and four great grandchildren:  Christopher, Noah, Cole and Brynlee.

    She is also survived by a brother, William J. MacIntyre and his wife, Elaine, of Pittsburgh and a son-in-law, Billy Strohmyer of Knox.

     In addition to her parents and husbands, Catherine was preceded in death by two daughters;  Susan McCoy and Terri Ann Strohmyer; two sons, Joseph Flannigan and Edward Flannigan; grandson, Ryan Bell; three brothers:  David, Thomas and Norman; sister, Patricia and two sons-in-law:  Nicholas DiFiore and Mark McCoy.

     Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.

     Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 811 Chestnut Street, Emlenton. Father Robert Brugger, parish priest, will serve as celebrant.

     Interment will follow in the Knox Union Cemetery.
