Edward M. McGrady, age 72, of Strattanville, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 2, 2019 at the Clarion Hospital following an illness.
Born December 28, 1946 in Charleston, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Daniel and Virginia McGrady.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served as a Sgt. in the United States Air Force.
Edward retired from Sealy Manufacturing in Strattanville.
He enjoyed NASCAR racing and watching football.
Survivors include one son, Edward McGrady and Shelly Ruth of Lamartine; two daughters: Lajuana McGrady and Shawn Reedy of Knox and Virginia McGrady and Joel Best, also of Knox and one step son, Matt Stromyer and his wife, Lisa, of Strattanville.
Edward is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers: Kenny McGrady and Richard McGrady and a sister, Mary Ingram.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Don McGrady and a sister, Margie Jones.
Family and friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
Military honors will be accorded at 7 p.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home, by the Berlin-Bowser American Legion Post #720 of Knox.
Funeral services will follow in the funeral home with Reverend Tom Hannold officiating.
