Gary Wade McGinnis, age 47, of Parker, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 3, 2019 at UPMC Mercy, following injuries sustained in a vehicle/motorcycle accident that occurred on Friday August 30, 2019.
Born May 28, 1972 in Grove City, he was a son of David W. McGinnis of Callensburg and the late Rose Mary Meals McGinnis.
He operated McGinnis Auto Repair and was a truck driver for various companies.
Gary enjoyed woodworking, tinkering with vehicles and riding motorcycles.
In addition to his father, survivors include a brother, Alan Meals and Kim of LaPorte, Indiana and two sisters: Tarena Lehnortt and Jason Rottman of Knox and Pamela Shay and her husband, William, of Callensburg.
Gary is also survived by six nieces and nephews: Tiffiny Shirey, Tina Painter, Peyton Shay, Kayndel Shay, Mary Detar and Jeff Detar and his dogs and best friends, Demon and Cricket.
In addition to his mother and grandparents, Gary was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Detar and a nephew, Dylan Meals.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019 in the funeral home with Reverend Dan Myers officiating.
The family asks that all come in casual attire to both the visitation and funeral services.
Interment will follow in the Foxburg Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
