Mary E. Dittman, age 92, of Knox, passed away early Thursday morning, October 25, 2018 at the Grove Manor Nursing Center in Grove City.
Born October 27, 1925 in Redbank Township, Clarion County, she was the daughter of the late Bortley and Achsah Shirey Sherman.
She married Glenn L. Dittman on September 20, 1947 and he preceded her in death on December 9, 1991.
Mary worked for Continental Can in Franklin and Austin’s Bleach in Valencia but retired from Hills Department Store in Butler.
She attended the Salem United Church of Christ at Lamartine in the past and enjoyed crafts, puzzles, gardening and genealogy.
Survivors include three sons: Frank L. Dittman and his wife, Stephanie, of Florida; Kenneth I. Dittman of Cranberry Township and Glenn E. Dittman and his wife, Patti, of Butler and one daughter, Laura E. Hartman and her friend, Ed, of Knox.
Mary is also survived by seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Sherman and a daughter-in-law, Jill Dittman.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 29, 2018 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2018 in the funeral home with the Reverend Chris Lewis, pastor of the Salem United Church of Christ, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Zion Union Cemetery, Richland Township, Venango County.
