Alma Bauer Obituary

     Alma K. Bauer, 95, a resident of Martinsville, entered eternal rest on Monday, May 5th, 2025, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Her life began on Friday, August 9th, 1929, in Knox, Pennsylvania on the family farm when she was born to the late Leland and Janeil (Bell) Knight.

     Alma was born and raised in Knox, Pennsylvania, later moving to Indiana, living in Indianapolis, Elwood and Martinsville. She was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother and grandma most of her life.   She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, reading, painting and crafting with her late husband, time shared with her family and was an avid fan of The Voice. She was a dedicated member of the Edenburg Presbyterian Church in Knox, Pennsylvania. 

     On November 25th, 1949, she married the love her life, Robert Edward Bauer, he preceded her in death on January 30th, 2020.  She leaves behind a host of loving family including her three sons, Kevin Bauer (wife, Cheryl) of Elwood, Indiana, Kent Bauer (wife, Linda) of Martinsville, Indiana and Kurt Bauer of Bedford, Indiana, one sister, Romayne Koos of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, two grandchildren Kyle Bauer (wife, JoAnna) and Amy Reeves (husband, Kyle) and five great grandchildren, Charlie, Avery Jane and Wilder Bauer and Edison and Eden Reeves. 

     She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Everett Knight and one sister, June Ditty. 

     In honoring her final wishes, her earthly remains were cremated. 

      A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at the Knox Union Cemetery, Best Avenue, Knox. Reverend Sarah Sedgwick, Pastor of the Edenburg Presbyterian Church, will officiate.

      At that time she and her late husband will be laid to rest together with military honors at Knox Union Cemetery in Knox, Pennsylvania. 

     Memorial contributions may be made to Edenburg Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 458, Knox, PA 16232. 

     Arrangements are under the direction of the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc. of Knox.
