Carolyn (Hoffman) Hughes Jagielski, age 83 of Venus, passed away on Friday morning, July 11, 2025 after a period of declining health.
Born September 24, 1941 in Marble, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Ethel Amsler Hoffman.
She graduated with the class of 1954 from North Clarion High School.
Carolyn was married in 1960 to Edwin Hughes, who preceded her in death. She later married Richard Jagielski, who preceded her in death on December 3, 2002.
She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Venus.
Carolyn worked for Owens-Illinois in Bridgeton, New Jersey; The Washington House, Tall Timbers and Sara Jane’s Deli.
She enjoyed gardening, loved trips to the beach and was a member of the Red Hats.
Carolyn is survived by her children: Candy Menz and husband, Dave, of New Jersey; Cindy Lucas of Venus; Kevin Hughes of Clarion and Zane Grace and wife, Jamie, of Venus; grandchildren: Kevin Hughes Jr., Richie Menz, Kory Hughes, Korinne Hughes, Christian Lucas, Robert Lee Clinard, Kollin Hughes and Zoe Grace, and several great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings: Robert Hoffman and his wife, Sandy, of Florida, Linda Griebel of Kansas; sisters-in-law: Marie Hoffman of Oil City and Becky Hoffman of Fryburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to acknowledge a special niece, Valrea Hoffman, and thank her for her love, support and dedication to Carolyn.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sisters: Barbara Kennedy and Shirley Confer; brothers: William Hoffman, Randy LaCaze, Rex LaCaze, Leonard Hoffman and his wife Verna and Henry Hoffman, and brother-in-law, Don Griebel.
Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the Faller/Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 19200 Route 208, Fryburg.
Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. in the funeral home with Reverend Jeffrey Piccirilli, pastor of the Faith Lutheran Church, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Venus Cemetery.
