Charles Ross Ploof, Sr., 84, of Knox, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Clarion Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Clarion.
He was born on October 28, 1941 in Pittsburgh. He spent his earlier years living in the Pittsburgh area and then joined the Army in January of 1960. Upon his military discharge in March of 1962, he returned to the Pittsburgh area until relocating to Knox in 1976, where he had various jobs until he became self-employed as a truck driver.
Charles enjoyed hunting and fishing trips to Canada. He enjoyed spending time at the American Legion with friends, spending time with his family and most of all, time with his dog “Little Bit”. Charles was honored this past Veterans Day through Aseracare Hospice for his service in the United States Army, honoring him with a pin and honorable award thanking him for his service.
He is survived by his son, Charles Ploof, Jr. and wife Jennifer; daughter Wanda Walther and husband Glenn; daughter Kandi Carpenter and husband Bruce, and his daughters Connie Joe Ploof and Tara Webb. Charles is also survived by many grandchildren and great children.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Alice Ploof, along with his brother, Ray Ploof.
His wishes were to not have a funeral service.
