Daryl Lee Mong, age 86 of Kossuth, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 20, 2024 at UPMC Northwest at Seneca.
Born April 26, 1938 in Kossuth, he was the son of the late Merle J. Mong and Geraldine Mae Cotherman Mong.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and while serving overseas as an airplane mechanic, he met and married the former Marilyn Ann Overett on October 14, 1959, in England.
Daryl worked various labor jobs along with being a farmer.
He loved farming, his garden, “junk” collecting, cooking, baking and watching the Steelers.
Daryl enjoyed watching Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Zoom meetings on Sunday mornings with Marilyn.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Marilyn; three children: Karen (Randy) Akam of Union City, Kevin (Kelly) Mong of Venus and Sharon (Joel) Roberts of Hydetown; nine grandchildren: Keith (Leah) Akam, Scott (Sarah) Akam, Benjamin (Elizabeth) Akam, Tyler (McKayla) Akam, Nicholas (Ashley) Mong, Chayce Mong, Kallie Mong, Tobyn Mong and Jett Mong; two great grandchildren: Tahmona and Brantley, and two step great grandchildren, Keira and Carter.
In addition to his parents, Daryl was preceded in death by a son, Barry Mong and a sister, Shirley Mong.
There will be no calling hours with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
