Doris L. (Slee) Martz

Doris L. (Slee) Martz, age 88 of Hawthorn, passed away on April 23, 2026. 

She was born on January 28, 1938 in Deanville to the late John and Ethel Truitt Slee. On October 28,1960, she married Raymond M. Martz. This past fall, they celebrated 65 years together. 

Doris attended the Distant Baptist Church, previously the Deanville Baptist Church. She loved to sew, crochet, make quilts and afghans, visit family, and go camping. She also enjoyed traveling all over the country to visit her daughter wherever she was working as a traveling nurse. 

Doris is survived by her husband; daughter Cindy (Randy) Greenawalt; and a sister Faye Hepler. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister Pearl; sister Joan Shick; and a brother John Slee.

Visitation will be held from 10 am to 12 pm, Monday April 27, 2026, at the Rupert Funeral Home & Cremation Service Chapel, 233 Penn St, New Bethlehem, PA 16242. A funeral service will follow at 12 pm with the Reverend David Westover officiating. 

Interment will take place in the Kellersburg Methodist Cemetery. 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Rupert Funeral Home & Cremation Service in New Bethlehem.
