Dorland Woodrow Myers, age 86, of Knox, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 9, 2020 at his home following a brief illness.
Born March 20, 1934, in Williamsport, Lycoming County, he was a son of the late Charles and Marian Mitchelltree Myers.
Dorland was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War.
On March 2, 1956, he married the former Dorothy Robbins and she survives.
Dorland was a truck driver for Womeldorf Trucking and retired as a Motor Coach driver for Country Trails Bus Company, Inc. in Clarion.
He was a member of the Knox Volunteer Fire Company; member and former secretary/treasurer of the Clarion County Fire Police and a member of the Clarion County Rod and Gun Club in Knox.
Dorland enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and attending auctions and flea markets, and loved driving truck.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three children: Crystal O’Neil and her husband, Steve O’Neil, Sr., of Franklin; Rodney Myers and his wife, Robin, of Knox and Darlene Rinker and her husband, Steve, of Lamartine; eight grandchildren: Jared Couch, Joshua Couch, Jacob Couch, Myron “Chuck” Myers, Danyell Tidd, Zach Myers, Jackie Fisher and Adam Rinker; 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandaugher.
Dorland is also survived by two sisters, Delores and Zara.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Merton and Bobby and a son-in-law, Marc Couch.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc, 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
In order to comply with the current Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines set by the Pennsylvania governor, social distancing and wearing a face mask is strongly suggested and a maximum of 25 individuals will be permitted in the funeral home at the same time.
The Knox Volunteer Fire Company will say their final farewell to Fireman Myers with a last call at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at the Salem Lutheran Cemetery, 2057 PA-208, Lamartine with Reverend Mark Rusnak, Asceracare Hospice Chaplin officiating.
