Ellen May Smith Weeter, age 82 of Knox, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, at The Caring Place in Franklin.
Born April 28, 1943, in Monroe Township, Clarion County, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Ernest Smith and Sara Maretta Yoder Smith.
She was a graduate of Keystone High School.
On October 4, 1963, Ellen married Robert Eugene Weeter and he preceded her in death on January 22, 2026.
Ellen worked in retail sales for many years, working for Neal’s Shoes and Kirk’s Menswear in the Clarion Mall, and eventually owned and operated Weet Street Menswear in the DuBois Mall.
She was an avid horse lover and owned several over the years. She was a local artist and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters and family.
Survivors include son, Kalen Weeter and wife, Tammy, of Little River, South Carolina; daughter, Cara Corona and husband, James, of Pittsburgh, and two grandchildren: Deven Carroll and husband, A.J. of Pittsburgh, Peyton Corona of Louisville, Kentucky, and a niece and nephew.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ellen was preceded in death by a grandson, Hunter Corona, and brother, Larry Smith.
In honoring Ellen’s request, there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date.
