F. Lucille Sayers, age 94 of South Bethlehem, went to be with the Lord on Thursday afternoon, April 9, 2026, at Jefferson Manor in Brookville.
Born February 18, 1932, in Madison Township, Armstrong County, she was a daughter of the late Victor George and Dorothy Fagley George.
She was a graduate of New Bethlehem High School and continued her education at Clarion State Teachers College.
Lucille taught elementary school until retirement.
She married Russell E. Sayers, and he preceded her in death on March 2, 2001.
Lucille was a member of the former First United Methodist Church of New Bethlehem, where she participated in many activities and served as a Sunday School teacher.
She enjoyed playing cards, painting ceramics, knitting, camping and spending time with her family.
Lucille is survived by her sister, Marlene George of Deanville; nephews: Kevin (Vicki) George, Brian (Brenda) George, and Jason (Heidi) George, all of Deanville, and niece-in-law, Carol George of Chicago, Illinois; great nephews and nieces: Chris, Denise, Cody, Caleb, Raegan, Brock and Taylor, and great great niece and nephew, Lexi and Dylan.
She is also survived by stepchildren: Virginia Conner of Bumpass, Virginia, Sandy Lee of North East, Joan Sayers of Grand Prairie, Texas, Mona Stroup of Mayport, Martha Meissner of Wilmington, Delaware and Wendy Risinger of Grand Prairie, Texas; daughter-in-law, Carol Sayers of New Bethlehem, and numerous step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant brother; nephew, Eric George; brother-in-law, Dewayne George; stepson, Donald Sayers, and step granddaughter, Alyssa Stroup.
Family and friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service chapel, 233 Penn Street, New Bethlehem.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Reverend Carol Brown officiating.
Interment will take place in the Squirrel Hill Cemetery in Porter Township, Clarion County.
