Floyd L. “Sonny” Say, age 81 of Emlenton (Nickleville), passed away Sunday morning, August 11, 2024 at UPMC Northwest at Seneca.
Born November 19, 1942, in Turkey City, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Floyd Plumer Say and Margaret Lucille Hess Say.
He graduated from Keystone High School in 1962.
Sonny married the former Charlene “Kay” Lohr on April 6, 1968 and she survives.
He retired as a feed store manager and was a member of the Nickleville Presbyterian Church.
Sonny enjoyed shoeing horses and working on his farm. He loved his Super C tractor and helping with demolition derbies with his sons, Chad and Greg and grandson, Dylan.
Survivors include his wife, Kay, and three children: Greg (Jamie) Say of Tionesta, Wendy (Richard) O’Neil of Franklin, and Chad Say of Emlenton.
Sonny is also survived by seven grandchildren: Katelyn Hayes, Brendon Say, Cody Say, Ashlei Lenkner, Dylan Say, Taylor Say and Luca Say, and 7 great grandchildren: Paisley Say, Jackson Say, Olivia Say, Addison Say, Caleb Say, Charlotte Hayes and Kelsey Hayes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, June Fisher and her husband, Bert.
Family and friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
Private family services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at the funeral home with Reverend Sue Montgomery officiating.
Interment will follow in the Nickleville Cemetery.
