Gail LaGene (Powell) Francis

     Gail LaGene Powell Francis, age 89 of Marienville, passed away Saturday morning, May 3, 2025 at Laurelbrooke Landing in Brookville.

     Born June 13, 1935 in Distant, Armstrong County, she was a daughter of the late Charles H. Powell and Ella Williams Powell.

     She was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School in Ohio.

     Gail married James E. Francis on June 27, 1953 and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2016.

     Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Schrecengost (Chris) of Marienville, and grandchildren: Todd Francis, Matt Francis, Amber Tonya, Shannon Schlosser, and Scott Schrecengost.

    Gail is also survived by her great grandchildren: Sylvia Kay Francis, Braeden Schrecengost, Mikayla Lutsch, PvFC. Jackson Tonya, Jonathan Tonya, Ashton Schlosser and Byce Schlosser, and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Kendle Francis.

    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Francis; brother, Kenneth Guy; sister, Carolynn Bachman, and niece, Rochelle Blake.

    Honoring Gail’s wishes, there will be no services.

    Interment will take place in the Oakland Cemetery, Distant.
