George Rusnak, age 81 or Lamartine, passed away at Penn Highlands-DuBois on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 after being hospitalized for injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Born May 15, 1943 in Sharon, he was a son of the late Michael Rusnak and Marie Antos Rusnak.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era and served from January of 1961 until his honorable discharge in January of 1965. He was stationed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa.
George worked for an automaker on the assembly line for a time but spent most of his life as a truck driver, driving until he was 80 years old.
He liked to watch sports, particularly NASCAR and football and enjoyed listening to Polka music.
George married the former Vannesse Webb on October 3, 1987 and she preceded him in death on February 5, 2023.
Survivors include his sons: Eric Rusnak, Caleb Rusnak and Zachary (Bethany) Rusnak, and a grandson, Eric Rusnak, Jr.
George is also survived by a brother, Robert (Eleanor) Rusnak, and a sister, Alice Valentich.
In addition to his parents and wife, George was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Rusnak and Raymond Rusnak, and sisters: Arlene Dunn, Joyce Rusnak and Maryann Esmond.
Private family services will be held.
Interment will take place in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Shippenville.
