Gladys Mae Beck, age 98 of Knox, went to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday morning, June 15, 2024, after a long and wonderful life.
Born October 19, 1925 in Kittanning, she was a daughter of the late George and Margaret Baum Gillespie and was a graduate of Keystone High School.
She married Kenneth W. Beck on June 5, 1944 and he preceded her in death on September 28, 2001.
Gladys retired with 25 years of service as a custodian from Keystone High School.
She was a member of the Nickleville Presbyterian Church, KHS Retirees and was an avid hunter, shooting her last deer at the age of 86.
Gladys loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons: Arthur J. Beck and his wife, Carol, of Knox and David M. Beck and his wife, Annette, of San Antonio, Texas; two step daughters: Jane George of Clarion and Faye Billings of New York; 17 grandchildren, and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
Gladys is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Lois, of Luzerne.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Beck, Jr.; five brothers: George, Tom, Bob, Joe and Mervin, and four sisters: Ella, Maud, Elizabeth and Dorothy.
Family and friends will be received from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2024 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
Funeral services will immediately follow in the funeral home.
Interment will take place at the Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville.
