Harry R. Bickel, age 88 of Knox, passed away Friday morning, September 13, 2024 at his home following an illness.
Born February 2, 1936 in Limestone, New York, he was a son of the late Jacob Carl Bickel and Rosilyne Yuskinski Bickel.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal in September of 1957.
Harry was a self employed carpenter.
He married the former Betty Bennett on February 8, 1958 and she preceded him in death on February 21, 2011.
Harry was a Christian and enjoyed hunting, bowling, camping and traveling.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia (Ron) Renninger of Knox; grandson, Chad Renninger; great grandson, Brandon Renninger (Rosa Lee) and four great great grandchildren: Octavia, Bellmey, Nylah and Ontari.
Harry is also survived by two sisters, Jane (Fred) Strauser of Pine City and Carol Bickel of Texas.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sisters and brother: Maggie, Lillian, Joanne, Carl, Betty and Patricia, and two infants.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Berlin-Bowser American Legion Post #720 of Knox at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
A memorial service will immediately follow in the funeral home with Reverend Wade Barto officiating.
