Jacqueline M. “Jackie” Painter, age 79, of New Bethlehem, died on Monday April 14, 2025 at the Clarion Hospital after an extended illness.
Born March 6, 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late James and Violet (Sharp) Porter. She was a graduate of St. Francis Catholic School.
Jackie worked at Woolworth Department Store in Cleveland as a purchasing buyer until her move to New Bethlehem. Later, she worked at the S.A.F.E. house in Clarion.
Jackie married the late William C. Painter on June 15, 1968 and he preceded her in death on July 29, 2013.
She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in New Bethlehem.
Jackie enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, James Painter of New Bethlehem; daughter, Shontell (Ray) McKinney of New Bethlehem; two grandchildren: Bethany (Dylan) Yohe of Luthersburg and Jason McKinney of New Bethlehem, and a great grandson, Carter Yohe.
Jackie is also survived by a sister, Patricia Gillespie of Cleveland, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jackie was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Sharp; a brother, James R. Porter Jr., and an infant son, Jason Painter, in 1972.
Family and friends will be received from 4-6 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025 at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service chapel, 233 Penn Street, New Bethlehem.
A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Jimmy Swogger will officiate.
Interment will take place in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in New Bethlehem.
