James Charles “Beaver” Lawrence, age 75 of New Bethlehem passed away December 8, 2024 at Clarion Hospital, following a lengthy Illness.
Born on April 13, 1949 in New Bethlehem, he was the son of the late John M. Lawrence and Alta Darr Lawrence.
Beaver was a graduate of Redbank Valley High School, and graduated from Penn State with a business degree. He was a salesman for Gourley Meat Packing then became the business manager and salesman for Shirey Lumber.
He enjoyed golf, baseball, softball, bowling, and loved sports trivia.
Beaver is survived by a long-time companion, Deborah Kemp of New Bethlehem; one son, Scott of New Bethlehem, and a daughter, Sara Beth of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service chapel, 233 Penn Street, New Bethlehem.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2024 in the funeral home, with the Rev. Bob Ryver officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given in the name of James C. Lawrence to the Clarion Cancer Center, 150 Doctors Lane, Clarion, PA 16214.
