Karen Marie Amsler, age 77 of Venus, passed away at her home on Sunday morning, April 5, 2026, following a brief illness.
Born December 18, 1948, in Knox, she was a daughter of the late John Kapp and E. Pauline Lewis Kapp and graduated from Keystone High School in 1966.
She married Loren R. Amsler on December 30, 1967, and he survives.
Karen was employed by Sears for 28 years.
She loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Karen enjoyed reading until her illness made it too difficult, and in her earlier years, she loved to paint.
Survivors include her husband, Loren; daughter, Stacey Greenawalt of Knox; son, Travis (Elizabeth) Amsler of McKinney, Texas; five grandchildren: Erin Amsler of Tucson, Arizona, Spencer (Damon) Corby of Reynoldsville, Aubrie (Kyle) Deloe of Shippenville, and Ethan Amsler and Phoebe Amsler, both of McKinney, Texas; two great grandchildren: Natalie Seigworth and Zeke Corby; four sisters: Roxanne Kahle of Clarion, Edye (Jim Jr.) Obenreder of Marble, Marlene (Bob) Underwood of Big Spring, Texas and Glenny (Nathan) Heidelberg of Midland, Texas.
Karen is also survived by brothers-in-law: Richard Amsler, Ted Amsler, Gene (Mary) Amsler and David (Rosanne) Amsler; sister-in-law, Susan (Drew) Heitzenrater, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Paul Kapp and John Kapp, Jr.; nephews: Andrew Warner and Hayden Heidelberg; brothers-in-law: Mike Kahle, Bill Warner, Gerald Cotton and Roland McAfoose, and sisters-in-law: Helen Amsler, Judy Amsler, Donna Cotton and Beverly McAfoose.
Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Faller/Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 19200 Route 208, Fryburg.
A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday, in the funeral home, with Rachel Kindel, family friend, speaking and sharing memories of Karen.
