Kenneth Gray Obituary

Kenneth Lee Gray, age 71, of Shippenville, passed away early Saturday morning, January 11, 2020, at the Clarion Hospital.

Born August 17, 1948, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Brian and Hilda Watkins Gray.

Ken was motivated by a strong love for Jehovah God and his neighbors. This love brought him to the Shippenville area, where he was able to expand his ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. It was in Shippenville that he found the love of his life, Della Culbertson, who survives.

He supported his ministry by working as a self-employed commercial flooring contractor and former owner of the CTS Computer Store in Shippenville. He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Shippenville, where he was an elder and served the congregation for more than 50 years.

Ken continued to show love for his neighbor throughout his life, volunteering his time in construction projects and helping with disaster relief projects throughout the eastern United States. He displayed loyalty in all aspects of his life - to his God Jehovah, to his family, and to his friends. He was known for being selfless, always willing to do whatever was needed.

Ken was a computer enthusiast and loved to collect guitars and tools. He enjoyed snow skiing, waterskiing, scuba diving, working outdoors and mowing.

Survivors include his wife, Della; two sons:  Bryan P. (Lisa) Gray and K. Michael (Jessica) Gray, of Knox; three grandchildren:  Molly (Caleb) Eva of Corsica; Emily (Brandon) Suszek, and Noah Gray, all of Knox; a great-granddaughter, Harper Eva and a great-grandson, currently on the way.

Ken is also survived by a brother and a sister, Garry (Val) Gray and Susan (Bud) Bishop, all of Florida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Barry Gray.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2020 in the Keystone High School auditorium, 700 Beatty Avenue, Knox. Light refreshments will be served following the service.
