Lawrence Laverne Best

     Lawrence “Larry” Laverne Best Jr. of Knox, passed from this life at his residence on August 11, 2025 after battling a long illness.

     He was born on July 26th, 1965 in the town of Oil City, to the late Lawrence Sr & Violet May Whitling Best. Lawrence graduated from Keystone High School in Knox in 1983.

     Lawrence was an over the road truck driver for many years, before his illness forced him to retire. Many of Lawrence’s greatest memories were from his time transporting members of the local Amish communities during his retirement. Lawrence was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Laverne Best Sr. 

     He is survived by his mother, Violet May Whitling Best of Knox; two sons: Lawrence (LJ) III Best of Erie, and Matthew (Faith Baker) Clark of Franklin;  brothers: Lamont (Luci) Best of Jacksonville, AR, Lowel Best of Littlerock AR; sisters:  Sharon (Roger) Best Nye of Canal Winchester, OH, Julie A Best Masteroianni (late Celestor “Mac” Joseph Masteroianni) of Wallingford, KY, Cindy L Best (Patrick) McGuire of Auburn, AL; three grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
