Linda Dianne Lieberum, age 81 of Knox, passed away while surrounded by her loving family at UPMC Passavant-McCandless on Sunday afternoon, February 23, 2025 after a hard-fought battle with pneumonia.
She was the daughter of the late Flored “Flo” Marshall Myers and William “Bill” Hindman.
Bill, who was awarded the Purple Heart, was killed in World War II during action in Italy. One of Linda’s biggest disappointments in life was never having the opportunity to meet and get to know her father. She grew up in Parker, but her favorite place to be as a child was at her Grandma Annie’s in Callensburg. There she would hear many stories of her dad and his successful career as a boxer.
Linda spent most of her working years in the food industry. She helped open The Picnic Basket restaurant in the Clarion Mall. Then went on to help open and manage both of the Rax Roast Beef restaurants in Clarion and Cranberry. Upon retiring, she worked at the Emlenton Truck Plaza.
She enjoyed yard saling, talking on the phone with her friends, cooking, and watching game shows on TV. But her biggest enjoyment was the time spent with family at cookouts, shopping or going out to eat.
Linda leaves behind her daughter, Kelly (John) Stiglitz, of Knox; grandchildren: Heather (Chad) Crompton of Knox, Lindsey (David “Kip” Wingar) Sheatz of Oil City, Johnny (Julia) Stiglitz of Shippenville and Zachary (Jannelle Toy) Stiglitz of West Palm Beach, Florida
She is also survived by three great grandsons, Caleb (Lilly), Drew and Kyle, all of Knox, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Myers of Parker.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gary Lieberum, Linda was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Myers, and a sister, Gloria Myers.
Family and friends will be received from 3-5 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home, with Reverend Wade Barto officiating.
