Lois Maxine Kellogg, age 97 of Knox, passed away Thursday evening, February 27, 2026, at the Shippenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following a period of declining health.
Born November 8, 1928, in Fenton, Allegheny County, she was the daughter of the late Arlington Rinker and Grace Robinson Rinker.
She married James R. Kellogg on February 19, 1944, and he preceded her in death on July 10, 2001.
Lois was a homemaker who loved to bake, garden and work on crossword puzzles. In her earlier years, she was an avid bowler.
She was once a very active member of the Faith Nazarene Church in Kossuth.
Lois is survived by her son, James A. Kellogg and his wife, Kay, of Shippenville; grandchildren: Dana of Van, Deana of Pittsburgh and John of Seneca, and great granddaughter, Courtney Kellogg, of North Carolina.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Hart; son-in-law, Barry Hart; three brothers: Dale, Floyd and Russell Rinker, and a sister, Dorothy Lewis.
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2026 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 1 p.m. with Pastor Robert Thomas, pastor of the Faith Nazarene Church, officiating.
Interment will take place in the Starr Cemetery at Ninevah.
