Margaret T. Chadman

     Margaret T. Chadman, age 94 of Lamartine, passed away early Friday morning, January 31, 2025 at The Caring Place in Franklin, due to injuries sustained in a fall.

     Born December 20, 1930 at the family home in Emlenton, she was a daughter of the late Charles Ritts and Florence Master Ritts and was a graduate of Salem High School.

     Margaret married Richard E. Chadman on November 10,1950 and he preceded her in death on December 24, 2007.

     Before retiring, she worked laying out kitchens at Source Inc. in Shippenville and volunteered at Charitable Deeds and Services until recently.

      Margaret enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, jigsaw puzzles, and making quilts and candy.

     She was a member of the Salem Reformed Church in Lamartine where she sang in the choir.            

      Margaret is survived by four sons: Kenneth Chadman of Cooperstown, Dennis L. (Carol) Chadman of Chicora, Steven B. Chadman of Lamartine and Ronald E. (Kelly) Chadman of Culpeper, Va.; one daughter, Karen K. (Steven) Wedekind of Knox; two brothers: Roger (Delores) Ritts of Nickleville and Allen Ritts of Lamartine, and three sisters: Jean Ausel of Sligo, Patricia Knoll of Butler and Linda (Richard) Rowe of State College.

     She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 9 Great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

      In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Mary; brother Joseph Ritts, and four sisters: Yvonne Jack, Janice Altmire, Zella Robertson and Wanda Van Steamburg.

      Family and friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2025 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.

      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday February 4, 2025, at the Salem Reformed Church, 2055 Turkey City Road, Lamartine with Pastor Ken Tack officiating over the services.

      Interment will follow in the Salem Reformed Cemetery.
