Matthew R. Henry, age 54 of Clarion, passed away Thursday morning, February 20, 2025 at his home following a sudden illness.
Born March 6, 1970 in Unity Township, he was the son of the late Edward J. Henry, Jr. and Patricia G. Knouse Henry.
Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he received an honorable discharge.
Matt worked in fencing and loved to play Yahtzee with Barbara.
Survivors include his best friend, companion and love of his life, Sandi Henry of Clarion; two sisters: Mary Margaret Henry Orosz and her husband, William, of Unity Township and Beth Ann Moore of Derry Township.
Upon moving to Clarion, Matt found his chosen family who also survive him: Barbara Bauer of Clarion; Tabitha and Eric VanDyke of Tionesta; grandchildren Ethan, Hayley and Darcie, and niece and nephew Jess and Tyler Shumate and Scott and Nathan.
In addition to his parents, Matt was preceded in death by his natural brother, Edward J. Henry, III and his chosen brother, Mark A. Bell.
All services will be private.
Interment will take place in the Perry Chapel Cemetery in Pine City, Clarion County.
Arrangements are under the direction of the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc. of Knox.
