Following a period of declining health, Robert “Bob” Greer, 82 of Knox, passed away
peacefully, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Pittsburgh’s UPMC
Mercy Hospital.
Born in Knox on March 17, 1942, Bob was the son of the late Harry and Beulah (Olson) Greer.
He graduated from Keystone High School in 1960 and married his high school sweetheart,
Linda Barrett, later that year in November 1960.
Bob worked for the Pennsylvania Electric Company (PENELEC) for 36 years and was the
founder and owner/operator of Marienville Master Antenna. He was also a past Master of the
Masonic Lodge, a director of the Marienville Area Civic Association (MACA), a director on the
East Forest School Board, and a Deputy Game Protector. He also coached Little League
Baseball and Varsity Basketball at East Forest High School and was an Eagle Scout who later
became a leader for the Boy Scouts.
Bob and Linda enjoyed spending winters in Florida, going to Disney World with their family,
and cruising with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, their three children, Debbie Siegel (Steve) of Westerville,
OH, Doreen Casey (Dan) of Verona, PA, and Dean Greer (Andrea) of Valencia, PA, six
grandchildren, Drew Siegel of Columbus, OH, Kevin Siegel of Chicago, IL, Joshua Casey
(Julianna) of Allison Park, PA, Matthew Casey (Sara) of Pittsburgh, PA, Cole Greer (Alyssa) of
York PA, and Erin Snyder (Jacob) of Zelienople, PA, and one great-grandson, Vincent.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and by his five siblings: Clara Louise Smathers, John “Bud” Greer, Martha “Mart” Mong, Harry Greer, Jr., and Barbara Hall.
There will be no public visitation or services; a memorial service will be held for family and
friends at a future date with Pastor Wade Barto of the Knox United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will take place at Knox Union Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and aides at UPMC Mercy for everything
they did for our Dad.
