Robert A Watkins

     Robert A. Watkins, age 86 of Knox, passed away early Saturday morning, November 16, 2024 at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

     Born July 7, 1938, in Knox, he was a son of the late Bert H. Watkins and Enabelle May Best Watkins.

     He was a veteran of the United States Army.

     Bob married the former Nancy F. Ashbaugh on July 24, 1959 and she survives.

     He was a laborer for the Local #2274 Carpenters Union and a member of the Clarion County Rod and Gun Club and the American Legion Post #720 of Knox.

    Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and helping others. He will be fondly remembered by his family, friends and all who knew him as a “Jack of all trades”.  Bob was always ready and willing to share his knowledge, hands, tools and time to anyone that needed him.

     Survivors include his wife, Nancy; sons: Randy A. (Nancy) Watkins of Knox and William C. (Jody) Watkins of Emlenton; daughters: Dianna Shick of Greenville and Cheryl Minich of Brockway; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

     Bob is also survived by a sister, Opal (Bob) Johnston of Knox.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James C. Watkins; sister, Betty G. Hopper; son-in-law, Dennis L. Minich, and a grandson, Matthew I. Minich.

     Family and friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.

     Military honors will be accorded at 11 a.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home, by the Berlin-Bowser American Legion Post #720 of Knox.

     Funeral services will follow in the funeral home with Reverend Wade Barto officiating.

     Interment will take place in the Phipps Cemetery, Ashland Township, Clarion County.
