Ronald Gary Willison

     Ronald Gary Willison, age 83 of New Bethlehem (St. Charles), passed away Monday evening, June 24, 2024 at his home, following an illness.

     Born November 16, 1940 in St. Charles, Armstrong County, he was a son of the late Reed Willison and Louise Painter Willison.

    He graduated from Redbank Valley High School and loved photography.

    Ron was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was a lithographer for the CIA for 10 years.

    Upon his return to the area, he became the sports editor for the Leader-Vindicator until retiring.

    Survivors include a brother, Jonathan (Barbara) Willison of Front Royal, Virginia, and two sisters: Karen Darlene Willison of St. Charles and Sherri (John) Morris of Sligo.

     Ron is also survived by nephew Scott and his children, Owen, Ethan, Olivia and Emmy; nephew Christopher and his daughter, Cienna; niece Kelly, her husband Eric, and son Jaxon; niece Kaitlin; nephew Matt, his wife, Lisa, and children, Carter and Crosby; nephew Corey, and nephew Danny.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Michael; sister Donna, and niece Janice.

     Family and friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service chapel, 233 Penn Street, New Bethlehem.

     Interment will take place in the Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
