Ruth Jean Lines, age 92 of Knox, passed away Wednesday morning, January 8, 2025, at her home.
Born March 22,1932 in Brockway, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Neiger and Anna Mary Siple Neiger.
She married James A. Lines on December 18,1954 and he preceded her in death on July 11, 1992 after 38 years of marriage.
Ruth was a graduate of Brockway High School and attended Clarion State College where she was the first homecoming queen in 1953.
She was a member of the Knox United Methodist Church where, until recently, she sang in the choir and in her earlier years, was involved in many church activities. Ruth was a past member of the Knox Vol. Election Board. She was also a member of the Clarion Library board, Knox Civic Club, and sang in the Clarion Community Choir.
She is survived by four daughters; Connie (Jim) Garbarino of Clarion, Sherrie (Bruce) Bauer of Indiana, Debbie (Hubert) Waldron of Okeechobee Fl, and Lorrie (Wade) Cooper of Parrish Fl.
Ruth is also survived by nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Neiger.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2025 in the Knox United Methodist Church, 9724 Route 338, Knox, with Pastor Wade Barto officiating.
Interment will take place in the Beechwoods Cemetery, Falls Creek.
