It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven Kuhns, age 65 of Marble.
He passed away June 16, 2026 in Clarion.
Born November 12, 1960 in Pittsburgh, Steve was the 3rd of 4 sons born to Raymond and Patrica Travers Kuhns. Both of his parents where in the military, which meant that he spent his childhood at several bases all over the world.
After Raymond and Patricia’s retirement, the family settled in Tionesta, where Steve graduated from West Forest High School.
After graduation and following his parents proud tradition of service, Steve enlisted and served in the Navy for 4 years, followed by 6 years in the National Guard.
He then returned to Western Pennsylvania, working several jobs in the area including construction and over the road truck driving.
“Kuhnie” enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping in the area, most of which he enjoyed with his “brothers” the Whitton boys, and settled here after his retirement.
Unfortunately, for the past few years, he experienced failing health but still tried to continue his hobbies as much as he was able.
Steve is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Mae, and his youngest brother, Mark, and was preceded in death by his parents and 2 older brothers.
A special thank you goes out to the nurses at the Clarion Cancer Center, and a deep thank you to his neighbors of recent years; Rennie, Mary Ann, Rodney and Edye, who have helped Steve navigate his health journey.
