Twila May Heeter, age 92 of Knox, passed away Thursday morning, March 6, 2025 at Clarion Hospital following a brief illness.
Born November 5, 1932 in Rydersville, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Florence Dighton Fitzgerald.
She married Wendell Heeter, Sr. on November 10, 1950 and he preceded her in death on February 2, 2002.
Twila was a member of the Edenburg Presbyterian Church in Knox and served as a church elder.
She was a talented crafter who loved to sew and paint, and make Santa Clauses that were sold all over the United States.
Twila enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren, and for the past 40 years, has very much enjoyed her standing Friday morning appointment to have her hair styled.
Survivors include her two daughters: Karlene (Von) Kimes of Knox and Lori Lawrence of Jacksonville, North Carolina; four grandchildren: Britt (Brian) Eaton of Grove City, Jarah Heeter (Nathan) Reed of Clarion, Ashleigh (John) Seitz of Madison, Alabama and Dan Heeter of Knox.
Twila is also survived by four great grandchildren: Rylie and Morgan Eaton, Wynn Seitz and Brooks Reed.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Wendell Heeter, Jr. and Craig Heeter, and grandson, Ryan Heeter.
Family and friends will be received from Noon to 2 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2025 in the funeral home with Reverend Sarah Sedgwick, pastor of Edenburg Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Knox Union Cemetery.
