Wendy Snyder Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wendy Jo Snyder, age 67 of New Bethlehem, (February 13, 1959 – April 13, 2026), a truly beautiful soul whose kindness, generosity, and love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Wendy lived her life with a gentle spirit and an open heart, always giving her more than she ever asked for in return. Her compassion extended not only to people, but to every living thing—she had a deep love for animals and a quiet reverence for nature that shaped the way she moved through the world.

She found her greatest peace outdoors, where the simple moments meant the most. Whether she was walking through the woods, listening to the rustle of leaves beneath her feet, floating peacefully on her pond under the warmth of the sun, or feeling the calm rhythm of the waves at the beach, Wendy was most at home in nature’s embrace.

To know Wendy was to feel loved. She had a way of making others feel seen, valued, and cared for without effort. Her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering kindness will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Her legacy lives on in the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the quiet beauty she saw in the world around her.

She leaves behind cherished family and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts always. This includes her two children: Cortney Ortz and her husband, Chad, of New Bethlehem and Graham Snyder and his fiancé, Britany Hoover, of Troutville; seven grandchildren: Aiden and Avery Ortz, Liam, Layden, Livian, Lailee, and Lynlee Snyder; her mother, Rosalie Shaffer, of New Bethlehem; one sister, Diana Neiswonger and her husband, Mark, of New Bethlehem and their children: Bobbie Holmes and Shawn Silvis and their families; a sister-in-law, Beth Snyder, of Valparaiso, Indiana and her children: Barry, Brian and Brandi and their families.

Wendy was preceded in death by her soulmate and husband, Daniel “HoDan” Snyder; a son, Cory Jack Snyder; granddaughters, Lilliauna and Lakota Snyder; her father, Homer Shaffer; in-laws, Jack and Louise Snyder; brother-in-law, Barry Snyder and grandma, Rosie Griffin.

Family and friends will be received from 1-4 p.m., Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Grace Baptist Church, 605 E. Washington Street, New Bethlehem.

A funeral service will follow in the church at 4 p.m. with Reverend Robert Ryver, pastor of Grace Baptist, officiating.

Interment will take place in the Oakland Cemetery, Distant, Armstrong County.
