Winifred Mae “Winnie” Boddorf, age 88 of New Bethlehem, passed away peacefully in her sleep and went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday morning, October 14, 2025.
Born October 17, 1936 in Climax, she was a daughter of the late James T. Truitt and Cora Mae Laborde Truitt.
Winnie started nursing school after graduation and met the love of her life, Kenneth D. Boddorf, who she married on March 30, 1956. She became a fulltime homemaker until her passing.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Kenneth; two children: Kevin (Tracy Neese) Boddorf and Kimberly (Kevin) Ruby, both of New Bethlehem; one grandson, Frank (Emily) Walls of Des Moine, Iowa; sister-in-law, Phyllis Boddorf of New Bethlehem and numerous nieces and nephews, who she loved like her own children.
Winnie was the biggest Steelers fan in the world, and loved cheering them on with her family on a Sunday afternoon. She could also be seen at many Redbank Valley Bulldog football games and wrestling matches.
She followed in her dad and mom’s footsteps as an avid hunter and had many wonderful memories of hunting rabbits and deer with several members of her family.
Winnie also loved to fish, and she and her husband spent many winters in Lake Okeechobee, Florida, catching tons of “specks” to bring home and share with family.
Her greatest joy was her grandson, Frank. From his birth to her death, he was an integral part of her life. She loved him so much.
She was a member of the Limestone Baptist Church. Her Christian journey started at the Climax Baptist Church where she was saved, baptized, and learned to grow in the Lord. She was a faithful woman of God and a great example of a faithful follower of Christ.
In addition to her parents, Winnie was preceded in death by in laws, Irvin C. and Hazel C. Boddorf; two sisters and their husbands: Gloria and Hudson Smith and Dolores and Kenneth Stewart, and two brothers-in-law, Robert (Barbara) Boddorf and Richard Boddorf.
A private service, officiated by Pastor Michael Shreckengost, was held at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service chapel, in New Bethlehem, on October 16, 2025.
Burial followed in the Squirrel Hill Cemetery in Porter Township, Clarion County.
